【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesameansforevaluationoftheflammableperformanceofsurfacefinishmaterialsusedinconstructingandoutfittingships.Aspecimenofthesurfacefinishofconcernismountedonthesupportmaterialcontemplatedforuseandsubjectedtoacontrolledsignificantradiant-fluxexposure.Allspecimensaretestedwhilemountedinaverticalplane.Thefollowingsurfacesareexposedtotest:Bulkheadspecimenshavingsurfaceveneers,fabrics,orpaintedfinishesaretestedononeorbothexposedsides.Ceilingfinishmaterialsshallbetestedonthelowerexposedsurface.Forceilingfinishmaterialswhichareperforatedandairbacked,testsalsoshallbeconductedontheback(upper)surfaceofthematerial.Deckfinishandflooringmaterialsaretestedontheupperexposedsurface.Protectivemembranesorfinishesoninsulationmaterialsaretestedontheair-exposedfaceorfaces.Thistestmethodprovidesfirepropertiesthatrelatetotheflammabilityofthespecimenstested.Theseincludeignitability,heatexposureforcontinuedburning,criticalfluxatextinguishment,andheat-releasebehaviorundervaryingflux-exposureconditionsapplied.Thistestmethoddoesnotprovide:Fullinformationonfirepropertiesofsurface-finishmaterialssupportedbybackingmaterialsotherthanthosetested.Fullinformationonsurface-finishmaterialswhenusedinotherthicknessesthanthosetested.Methodsforusingthefirepropertymeasurementsasameasureforclassifyingthefireriskorhazardofthespecimenstested.1.1Thisfire-test-responsestandardcoversaprocedureformeasuringfirepropertiesassociatedwithflammablebehaviorofsurfacefinishesusedonnoncombustiblesubstratesaboardship(Note1).Inparticular,theseincludesurfacefinishesintendedforuseinshipconstructionsuchasdecksurfacingmaterials,bulkheadandceilingveneersincludinganyadhesivesusedtofastentheveneerstothebulkheadsandceilings,paints,andexposedtreatmentofinsulatingmaterials.Note18212;ThistestmethodhasbeenpreparedtocloselyfollowthetestprocedureofIMOResolutionA.653(16)(1).Optionalprovisionsnotapplicabletothedomesticuseofthistestmethodhavebeendeleted.1.2Testsperformedaccordingtothistestmethodareintendedtoyieldfirepropertiesthat,whenappropriatelyinterpreted,arepotentiallyusefultoselectmaterialsandsurfacetreatmentsthatwilllimittherapidgrowthandspreadoffire.1.3Thistestmethodrequiresaspecificrangeofspecimenradiantthermalexposureformeasuringfireproperties.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Thisstandardisusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardorfireriskassessmentofthematerials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSection7.
