【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesamethodfordeterminingthebenzoicacidcontentoffruits,vegetablesandderivedproducts.Aschlorobenzoicacidsareresistanttooxidation,themethodcannotbeappliedinthepresenceofp-chlorobenzoicacid,astheabsorptionspectrumofthisacidisclosetothatofbenzoicacid.Neithercanitbeusedinthepresenceofcinnamicacid,whichistransformedintobenzoicacidbychromicacidoxidation.NOTEThecinnamicaciddeterminedasbenzoicacidinthismethodexistsgenerallyonlyintheformoftracesinvegetables,andthereforehasnoeffectontheresultobtained,exceptinthecaseofcinnamonbark,whichcontainshigherquantities.
